Few states can say they are doing as well as South Dakota. Even in the post 9/11 crisis that swept across the nation, South Dakota remained strong and vital. The entire area has relished in the new industry that has been swarming to the area. With the creation of so many new jobs the market is hot and people from outside are being recruited to help fill the void. To help the matters, the tourism industry is booming as the people from all over the nation are flocking to the borders to take advantage of the many activities, both indoors and out, that are all across the state. There is no shortage of sights to see in South Dakota and the state is considered to be near the top in respect to the natural beauty. Those who visit rarely want to leave which has helped to strengthen the states economy as the tourists come and some decide to stay.
Overall the cost of living is low in South Dakota. This is helped along by the number of jobs that remain available. When the new companies move in they create more than enough jobs but there is a lack of qualified people to fill the positions so the jobs remain unfilled and the price of the pay per hour goes up in hopes of bringing in new people.
For those living in the state, the prices of new homes cannot be beat. The construction industry is booming all over the state. More new homes are being built all the time and the demand for these homes is great. The companies are having a definite time keeping up with the demand and the prices are so low that it is not hard to understand why.
Existing homes are also in high demand. The more people that come to the state require the existing home market to keep in step which so far it has been. As the economy continues to get better the demand will increase and all of the markets will need to keep in stride or the whole thing may end up collapsing in on its self.
